D’Youville Chips in for Haiti: The SOIL Project

Throughout the past few months, you may have seen signs and posters advertising and asking students for help painting pots. Why pots? SOIL, or Sustainable Organic Integrated Livelihoods, is an organization committed to providing healthy lifestyles by transforming waste into resources. They achieve this through EcoSan, or Eco-Sanitation, in which human waste is returned to the soil in a useable, healthy form.

As President of D’Youville College’s sophomore honor society, Lambda Sigma, I am proud to announce that we will be once again hosting our very successful “Shirt Off Your Back” Clothing Drive from Tuesday, March 30th to Thursday, April 2nd. Along with Psychology Club and SNA, we are going to strive and make this year’s event bigger and better than last year’s! For those of you that don’t know how the drive works, it’s simple: Donate three gently used articles of clothing, and get a free shirt!
